Employees with Service of 30 Years to be Recognized at the Eighth Annual
Islander Awards Celebration
Winner of the National Student Employee of the Year to be Announced
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will recognize seven employees
for 30 years of service at the Eighth Annual Islander Awards Celebration
on Friday, April 16 at1:30 p.m. in the University Center, Lone Star Ballroom.
In addition, the Southern Association of Student Employment Administrators
will announce A&M-Corpus Christi student Ryan Fikes as the winner
of the National Student Employee of the Year.
30 Year Honors
Drs. Randell Drum, Leon Dube, William Huie Jr., Paul Orser Jr., Albert
Trevino, John Tunnell Jr. and Robert Wiedermann have all worked at
the University in various capacities since 1974 and will receive their
30-year
pins from President Robert R. Furgason. Another 155 employees with
service ranging from five to 25 years will also be recognized. All
service on
the campus is counted, dating back to when the University was a private
Baptist school to 1971.
National Student Employee of the Year
In addition to the service awards presentation, Nora Cargo, president
of the Southern Association of Student Employment Administrators will
announce Ryan Fikes as the winner of the National Student Employee
of the Year. Fikes will receive a $1,000 and a plaque commemorating
his
achievement. |
