Children’s Author Kathi Appelt to Speak at Texas
A&M University-Corpus Christi as Part of Children’s Book Festival
Texas writer Kathi Appelt
will speak on “How to Write Books for Children” on Thursday,
April 15 at 9:30 a.m. in the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
Early Childhood Development Center, Room 219.
Appelt, aHouston resident who has written more than 20 books for older
and younger children, will speak as part of the Corpus Christi Children’s
Book Festival. The two-day event is sponsored by the A&M-Corpus Christi
Early Childhood Development Center, Del Mar College, H-E-B and the Corpus
Christi Public Libraries.
More than 1,700 children are expected atDel Mar on Friday, April 16 when
noted children’s authors Mary Sue Galindo and Layne Johnson are
scheduled to join with Applet at 8:30 a.m. to read from their books.
Each participating child will be allowed to select a free book of their
choice at a booth staffed by A&M-Corpus Christi students.
