Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Concert Band to Present Last Concert of Season on Thursday, April 15
Band will perform encore at Robstown High School on Wednesday, April 28

The Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. John Wojcik, will perform Overture to “Candide” by Leonard Bernstein and “A Movement for Rosa,” Mark Camphouse’s tribute to civil rights icon Rosa Parks whose refusal to give up her seat on a city bus in 1955 sparked a year-long transit strike in Montgomery, Ala. Other selections include “American Salute” by Morton Gould, a piece based on the famous American war song “When Johnny Comes Marching Home;” “Bouquets,” a contemporary work by Martin Mailman; and Jan Van der Roost’s “Puszta,” an original piece based on Slavic folk music.

The Concert Band will present an encore performance in the Robstown High School auditorium on Wednesday, April 28 at 12:30 p.m. Both performances are free and open to the public.
