procedures; and 3) to explore the goals and
challenges for the new Director with the Search
Committee and other members of the Institute and

Preparation and Review |
Review the DRAFT position statement with the
Search Committee, including discussion of feedback
from I,M scoping interviews. Search Committee
approves FINAL version of the position statement for
public dissemination. |

| First Progress Review |
I,M presents preliminary candidates on paper, as
well as nominees, applicants, and other prospective
candidates to the Search Committee. I,M will have
interviewed some of the preliminary candidates and
others will have been telephone screened. This is an
opportunity to review search strategies – are we on
the right track? |

This requires two full days of the Search

Campus Visits |
Purpose |

Finalist Interviews and
Making the Decision |
In campus visits, finalists meet with senior
administration, faculty, staff, students, and other
stakeholders, as well as interviewing for a second
time with the Search Committee. Full on- and offlist
references in process. Some on-list references
delivered prior to on-campus visits. |
