Please do not show up to campus housing before your scheduled move-in date as you will not be able to move in early. The first day of class is officially set for Tuesday, Sept. 5. 8/29/17- 2:50 p.m. - TAMU-CC Code Blue: Campus Re-Opening Update:

The University is pleased to announce that thanks to the hard work of our teams here on campus, the Island is nearly ready for re-opening. The Disaster Response Team has reported that damage on campus includes downed tree limbs, some roof and water damage and parts of campus still without power. They are working around the clock with AEP Texas to address these issues.

We’d like all University employees to return to work on Wednesday, Aug. 30, if you can do so. If it is unsafe for you to return or you are experiencing undue burden as a result of Hurricane Harvey, please do not attempt to return immediately. Please notify your direct supervisor, and we will work with you to accommodate your needs.

Although campus will re-open to University employees on Wednesday, University services and offices are still not fully operational. Although power is back on campus, we are currently assessing to ensure all systems are fully functional in every building. We will announce when University services and offices are available and we can best service your needs. Classes remain delayed at least until Tuesday, September 5. As soon as the University has full electricity we will announce move-in dates and confirm the official first day of classes.

University leadership is currently in collaboration with the State and The Higher Education Coordinating Board to finalize the fall semester schedule, and we will post an update as it becomes available. Our goal is to minimize the impact of the storm on your student success.

To receive campus updates, students, faculty and staff should continue checking their Islander emails and Blackboard messages for the latest information.

8/27/17- 2:20 p.m - TAMU-CC Code Blue: Start of Classes Delayed

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, University leadership continues to fully assess campus facilities, including Miramar and Momentum housing. With student safety and success in mind, University leaders have announced that classes will be delayed at least until Tuesday, September 5.

A full timeline for campus re-opening is still in development and will include enough time for all students to move into their campus housing before classes start. Before move-in can be scheduled, housing staff will conduct a full, in-depth inspection of all rooms and common areas to ensure it is safe for Islander students. Fire alarm systems, water and electrical systems must also be functioning correctly before students can return. A concrete move-in date cannot be determined until our full inspection is complete. As soon as University leadership have determined the properties are safe, we will inform you of a move-in date.

The safety of our students, faculty and staff remains a top priority. We understand that many areas outside of Corpus Christi were severely affected by the storm. Please do not make plans to return to campus until it is safe for you to do so. We will work with all students, faculty and staff who are unable to return safely once campus re-opens.

Students, faculty and staff should continue checking their Islander emails and Blackboard messages for the latest information and a timeline for campus re-opening as it becomes available.
