Community Outreach Programs
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is committed to supporting the life-long educational needs of citizens throughout the South Texas region. The mission of Community Outreach Programs is to extend the resources of the University to educate and serve the community. In accordance with that mission, Community Outreach bears a major responsibility as part of the American Democracy Project to connect faculty and students with the community in civic engagement activities. The Office of Community Outreach Programs provides a wide variety of services to a diverse group of citizens and organizations.
Community Outreach offers professional development and enrichment programs, continuing education, youth programs, organizational development assistance, events coordination, environmental education, small business assistance, environmental health research and compliance assistance, and conference planning and delivery. Community Outreach staff also participate in a number of community and economic development activities.
Community Outreach supports the service mission of the University by delivering existing programs and developing new services according to the needs of the community. To increase available resources, Community Outreach maintains cooperative efforts with other institutions and agencies of the Texas A&M University System, as well as a wide variety of community service organizations.
