Forming Our Position
for the Momentum Campaign
Substantial private giving has become the mainstay for maintaining and building upon the excellence within public universities throughout the nation. As costs for providing a quality education increase, universities are faced with declining levels of state dollars, and this financial burden should not be placed fully onto the backs of students who face the constant rise in tuition and fees.
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi has been fortunate over the past several years in having a loyal base of private donors who understand clearly what we face as our campus grows. Many have stepped forward to make substantial commitments which we see in our facilities, scholarships and faculty enrichment. However, for us to take the next bold steps forward, we must place special emphasis on those particular programs and operations that ensure our progress.
In our discussions with many individuals from throughout the community, we learned from these engagements that there are special interests being expressed for the development of scholarship endowments and faculty enrichment. Along with these areas is the continued support for developing facilities and services that are vital to quality instruction and maintaining a robust student lifestyle.

When Dr. Flavius Killebrew became the University’s president, he unveiled a campaign strategy for continuing the University’s growth. The blueprint, Momentum 2015, delineates three guiding principles for moving the University forward over the next decade – Excellence, Engagement, and Expansion. This is an inseparable triad; achievement of one without the other two will prove a fruitless endeavor. |
