I'm a creative professional with a strong educational background in the fine arts with a focus on graphic arts and photography related to advertising, illustration, and design. I've completed additional graduate course work in marketing and communications. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985 from Corpus Christi State University, and returned to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 1998 to earn my Master of Arts degree.
I became a successful businessman in the late 70s, and for a period of twenty years I produced special events employing skills in marketing, public relations and advertising. During this time I also had a career as a Communication Specialist for Southwestern Bell and later AT&T.
I'm an accomplished photographer with over thirty five years experience in black and white and color photography including film and video production. My skills consist of developing and printing black and white and color photographs, photographing and editing film and video, digital imaging equipment and techniques.
I am also an experienced classroom teacher in photography (both digital and film), teaching college, high school and middle school students. My teaching career began in 2000 as an adjunct at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi where I taught for four years. In 2006, I began teaching at Del Mar College where I currently teach an evening class in Photo 1 and Photo 2.
I have been happily married for 22 years to my wife, Irma, who teaches Art at Kaffie Middle School. We have one son, Paul, who is a police officer with the Corpus Christi Police Department. My interests include photography, art, traveling, collecting Beatles records and memorabilia, reading and collecting comics, caring for our three cats, gardening and landscaping.
