Reporting to the Director of Development, I lead efforts to develop and strengthen lifelong relationships between alumni and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Alumni Association, with the goal of increasing their engagement with and support for the University and the Association. I am a member of the Advancement Leadership Team and am responsible for providing strategic direction for every aspect of the University's alumni relations program in partnership with the Association's volunteer leadership, Institutional Advancement colleagues, and other key University administrators. I inspire a proud and engaged alumni community to serve and support the University, to celebrate the achievements of students, faculty, and fellow alumni, and to ensure that Texas A&M-Corpus Christi stands with the finest universities in the world. I manage the Alumni Relations staff and budget. I also provide executive support for the Alumni Association Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, ensure that all Association committees are staffed, and that Association resources are used in a manner consistent with the Board's intent.
I earned both my Bachelor's in Business Administration in 1992 and my Master's in Business Administration in 1996 from from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. I've worked in the Institutional Advancement division since 2000 when I began as the Development Officer of Annual Funds. I was promoted in 2001 to Director of Alumni Relations where I have played a pivotal role in engaging a community of 40,000 alumni at a particularly important and exciting time in the University's history to convey a compelling vision for the future of alumni relations. I have provided leadership and strategic direction for Alumni Relations, collaborating with the leadership of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association, leaders of its component affiliates, chapters, and committees, Advancement colleagues, and University administrators. I've been responsible for implementing a renewed vision and strategic plan for Alumni Relations, with an emphasis on developing targeted alumni segments, interest/affinity groups, college/school alumni relations. I have worked closely with key University leaders to open the new Woo Sung Lee Alumni Welcome Center as a resource for alumni and the campus community.
In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering with community organizations and my local church where I am a member of the praise team, Pearls of Grace dance ministry, prison ministry and TV/Video ministry. I am also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Corpus Christi Alumnae Chapter, the Black Chamber of Commerce, and serve as president of the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education.
