As the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations, I coordinate with the University's faculty and staff to determine institutional needs. I then identify and cultivate prospective foundation and corporation funders that meet the mission and directives of the partnership.

Upon graduating from Texas A&M University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, I became a Public Relations Officer at the Ocean Drilling Program and later at Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia. These opportunities gave me a broad based understanding of health care and Earth sciences.
 
To further my interest in health care, I acquired a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy at Georgia State University. In 1996, I became a Registered Respiratory Therapist and continued to work at Emory until moving to Corpus Christi in 2001. I started a small business in 2004 with Dr. Stacey Lyle that facilitated GIS research and development with NASA.
 
I started my current position in February 2011 with the goal of strengthening the University's prospective funding opportunities with community collaborations.
