I write the Outstanding Islanders features on the University home page and oversee the nominations for the monthly articles, which spotlight the honors and accomplishments of the University's students, faculty, staff and alumni. I publicize the University's newest, top-rated programs, upcoming community events, student and faculty and staff honors and awards and other news items through an array of press releases, media alerts and other materials. I also work behind the scenes to set up television and radio interviews with University experts, special guests and media opportunities highlighting our robust student life. I produce copy, proofread and edit University publications including the Islander magazine, the Foundation Report and the President's Report. I send out important information through special campus announcements, and assist with campus announcements and the monthly Coastlines newsletter. My voice is featured on the University's phone message-on-hold announcements, which I script.

I am a Corpus Christi native who received my associate's degree in Liberal Arts from Del Mar College in 1996 and my Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in public relations from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 1999, where I graduated with honors. As a student, I was president of the Lambda Pi Eta communication honors society and was an intern in the Office of Public Affairs. I previously worked as a reporter for the Corpus Christi Caller-Times where I held positions as arts and entertainment reporter, society editor and had my own fashion column. I began my career at the University in 2007.

I serve on the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Alumni Association's National Board of Directors and the McNair Scholars Committee. I am a past-president of the Anchor Alumni Club and past secretary for the Corpus Christi Alumni Club of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I am a co-captain for the Island Warriors team participating in this year's Corpus Christi downtown Relay for Life. Also, I enjoy volunteering at the Texas Adopt-a-Beach cleanups and the Special Olympics Bowling Tournament.
