HEAD COACH:HECTOR
SALINAS Led by an equal balance of seasoned veterans
from the junior college ranks, transfers from Division I and II
institutions and a group of freshmen, Hector Salinas' squad finished
with a 23 - 29 record in its inaugural season.
MEN'S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH: RONNIE
ARROW In its inaugural season on the court,
the Texas A&M
University-Corpus Christi men's basketball team posted an impressive
13 - 13 mark. Michael Hicks was tabbed the Independent Player-of-the-Year
while Lee Denmon and Damian Kirkaldy were named to the All-Independent
team. For his efforts, Ronnie Arrow garnered the Independent Coach-of-the-Year
Award.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH: SHERYL
ESTES The 1999-2000 staff of the A&M-Corpus
Christi women's basketball team achieved a winning record (14 -
12) in its first-ever season on
the hardwood. Jean Clark, Detra Johnson and Rachel Grayson garnered First
Team All-Independent honors while Kristen Rogers was named the Independent
Rookie-of-the-Year.

CROSS COUNTRY HEAD COACH: SHAWN
FLANAGAN A&M-Corpus Christi begins its first year of men's and women's cross
country in the Fall of 2000. It will add indoor and outdoor track & field
to its ledger in 2001.
GOLF HEAD COACH: IAN
FRERET The Islander women's golf team captured its first
ever team title at the North/Hidden Oaks Invitational. Melissa
Newman-Gillespie led the squad with an 82.9 stroke average
in 16 rounds.
