PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
Welcome to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, a proud component of The Texas A&M University System.
I am honored to serve as President/CEO of this excellent public university, which provides premiere higher education opportunities for more than 8,300 students from this region and locations throughout the state and the nation.
I feel very fortunate to be able to lead a University that has received remarkable academic recognition, regionally and nationally. Within the state, the University has gained an extraordinary reputation after twice earning the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s STAR award for success in providing access to higher education for all. Nationally, the University is recognized for its groundbreaking first-year learning program, which is at the core of our mission of helping students succeed.
The campus is growing rapidly, with a record number of students this year, and a consistent expansion in programs and facilities. Our outstanding faculty and staff have created an environment of vibrant growth and momentum within which our mission remains clear—access and opportunity for all students.
As the University’s President, I am committed to continuing and accelerating the institution’s growth path, just as I am equally committed to nurturing and enhancing the strong community and institutional relationships already in place. I am particularly looking forward to building, strengthening and enhancing ties with the entire Coastal Bend community. The future success of Texas is dependent on access to higher education for our minority populations, and this University is in the perfect position to help realize that goal.
