Welcome

University President Flavius Killebrew

Welcome to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the jewel of The Texas A&M University System.

As President/CEO, I am very proud of our faculty and students who are earning state, regional and national recognition for academic excellence.

The University has around 10,000 students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in five colleges. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 19-to-1, our students learn from top-notch professors who are engaged in ground-breaking research and who bring a fresh, real-world attitude into the classroom.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi has built a solid academic reputation for its challenging curriculum and highly-rated degree programs. Islander students explore the depths of the Gulf of Mexico, perform on the finest stage in the Coastal Bend region, undertake study and research that improves lives and supports the well-being of the community, and engage in partnerships with businesses.

At our beautiful campus located on its own 240-acre semi-tropical island, students can blend daily work in classes and laboratories with a stroll along the beach lined with palm trees, natural wetlands, and a view of downtown across the sparkling waters. However, A&M-Corpus Christi is more than beautiful scenery. With modern buildings, an extensive library, a magnificent Performing Arts Center, NCAA sports, recreational facilities, and many amenities that support an enjoyable quality of life, we are also a community.

A&M-Corpus Christi is clear in its commitment to student success. Our academic programs promote the importance of developing knowledge and building leadership skills, and our array of student services and activities are invaluable to students in their pursuit of a well-rounded college education. The future success of Texas is dependent on access to higher education for our minority populations, and this University is in the perfect position to help realize that goal.

I want to thank you for your interest in Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and invite you to visit our beautiful campus and experience the Island University.

Sincerely,

Flavius Killebrew
