Grant Sponsored Programs
The following programs are ways that Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi services our community. Each program has individual focus and goals. Please contact individual programs for additional information and/or specific questions.


N.Y.S.P. (National Youth Sports Program)
Ages: 10-16
Location: Texas A&M University Corpus Christi
Cost: Free to qualified applicants
Sponsored by the National Youth Sports Program, NYSP encourages children to be active in their lifestyles and promotes education through weekly sessions. Some target schools are West Oso, Evans Elementary, Menger Elementary, and Sanders. To see if you can be a part of the NYSP Family contact Randy Bonnette @ 825-3317. Come and enjoy some sport on our Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus.



Upward Bound
Ages: 14 and up
Grades: 9-11th
Location: Texas A&M University Corpus Christi
Cost: Free
For high schools participating in Upward Bound. The Upward Bound Program is sponsored by a grant through the U.S. Department of Education and is a year round program. The focus is to identify and select eligible students who meet income guidelines or who are first-generation college students. They are offered the opportunity to enhance their academic and social skills needed to succeed in post-secondary education.
