Examples
of Successful MA-IS
Programs
The
most successful programs are those with
the clearest, most focused goals. Often
these goals involve enhancing an already
established career.
Teachers
often select a field in the subject area they teach, along
with a field in Communication Arts or Theatre.
In
some cases, students may pursue a minor field from the College
of Business (COB), but must make special arrangements with
the COB through the MAIS Coordinator. Students who incorporate
a Business component in their degree plans must fulfil all
COB prerequisites.
Others
have built programs around personal goals.
Students
interested in exploring modes of creative expression have
selected fields in Arts, Communication/Theatre or English.
Other
students have made the study of South Texas their focus through
study of History and Art.
A
good combination for two field plans is English and History.
