In the News...M.A. in History Meets Local Needs

The History graduate program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi blends the intensive study of traditional geographic regions with a distinctive emphasis on the growing fields of urban and applied history. Public school teachers and prospective community college teachers will gain the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and comprehension of their teaching fields, as well as to further hone their skills as historians.

At the same time, the program provides opportunities for students to use an advanced degree in history as a means for entering academia or getting a job in museums, libraries, archives, and the public sector.

Finally, the master's program enables the citizens of Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas to engage in a rigorous and fascinating study of the past.
